I frequently hear from self help gurus that you need to keep a vision board if you want to manifest your goals. What this actually mean is you create a board and write your goals, dreams and aspirations and check the board every now and then. Have you created a vision board, did it actually help you reach your goal?

A vision board may be for some, especially if they're goal oriented but can't find the motivation, but not necessary for all.

I keep a list of bigger dreams I want to accomplish and then break them into segments of how to get there, and then work towards the segments with more reasonable tasks.

I don't think a picture of a 40' boat would help me get there, which is what I envision some do for their vision boards. I can hardly find that practical without elevators and steps to get on those elevators — so to speak — which turns it more into a "to do" list, which is constantly molding at the base.
