off-topic What do you think of fishing?

For threads discussing subjects unrelated to the main forum topics.
I live near the water and there are a lot of fish that you can catch in a relatively short time, from what I see fishermen do.

I just don't want to buy a $300 rod to fish for only what I need. I'd be out there all morning and have like 50 fish, not knowing what the hell to do with the other 49. I'm sure I could freeze a couple, but, it'd just be wasteful if I couldn't find something to do with the rest.

And, it'd be just my luck to not catch any fish like they can repetitively do too...

I remember when me and my brothers were kids, we used to spend time down at our local park fishing, it was fun back then but if I were to try it now, I don't think it would interest me as much.
Well, that is a nolstagic experience but this is not the first time that people change over their interests due to age. I’ve also find myself in that situation. I still relive some of those old memories. At least it’s fun to remember sometimes.

Kids always have a way to find fun in anything they are doing. Do you know why it's like that? It's because life is free and much easier at that age. As an adult, your mind will be full of so much you need to take care of. This makes it hard to enjoy some of those old things you used to like.

I had a very good experience fishing as a kid with a basket. There was a stream close to our house, most kids in my neighbourhood flock there to swim and fish. I caught so many fishes then which we fry and eat them.
Wow that is such a wonderful childhood experience that I never got the chance to have. I love to hear the story of people fishing and then get to eat the fish you caught in the stream. I wish I have such a wonderful experience.

I do not have patience to hold fishing rod and wait for hours. This does not look a fun activity to me. But I have tied fisherman's net and this looks exciting.

Kids in my neighbourhood today never had that experience because all the streams where we used to go fishing are no more. They have found a way to drive the water away and build houses there.

Fishing is awesome for just chillaxing and drinking a cold beer or smoking a few reefers lol.... It's just a way to get away from the wife for a few hours and do shit you wouldnt dare do at home ahahaha

I really enjoyed it so much when I was still hunger younger. It's actually why I still have my avatar being about fishing in some forum like yours 😂

What's the craziest thing you have ever done on a fishing trip?

Fishing is definitely something I would love to try in the future. I have only seen it in movies and videos but have never tried it myself.

I am yet to try fishing because its not so common here to fish although I have seen it in movies and it seems like a fun activity
