There are many things I would like to know about Tai Chi now that I’ve been hearing much about it recently. They say it is good for the body balance and can help in relaxing the body but what are those benefits that are associated with it? Does anyone know someone that has practiced Tai Chi? I'd love to hear about it. Perhaps @Harsh World
can help out.

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art, while Karate is Japanese. Though, if you asked about Karate, I wouldn't have much to offer up besides that I had my daughter go through 3 belts (4 if you count the white belt that everyone has to have) while in elementary by one of the top Karate instructors, who practices the sport professionally and teaches as well.

I didn't cover China in my Asian studies (undergraduate certificate level at a university) to know much about China at all. My focus was mainly on Japan and Korea.

I also haven't practiced it but I wish to. This topic made do a little search and I found out that Tai Chi is excellent for increasing balance and enhancing our levels of relaxation. It’s a rather slow exercise that is however good for flexibility and strength. Tai Chi is done by so many people to make them feel relaxed and get a stable state of mind.

I did not know Karate was Japanese.
Karate actually originated in Okinawa, Japan, which was its own sovereign state before WWII. After the war, the Americans occupied it for a brief period, I believe up until the early '70s and returned it to Japan. Therefore, it's kind of Japanese. If you watch Karate Kid, Mr. Miyagi refers to his "country" as Okinawa, while at the time of filming, Okinawa was a part of Japan, but with his age, it could have very well been his country growing up.

Some Okinawans still like to differentiate themselves as being Okinawan over Japanese, or "Mainlanders", rather, because there are still significant cultural differences between those born and raised in Okinawa over Honshu (the main island of Japan and what one would recognize easily as Japan on a map).

I guess Taekwondo is Korean, right?

I have the slightest clue, even though I took a few semester hours of Asian studies. It should pop to mind, but a quick Google to refresh my memory says that you're right and it is Korean.

Tai Chi is really great for increasing body balance and relaxation. I would most definitely advise that you seek out an instructor or a Tai Chi class in your area as that can help in getting the right form and techniques.
Tai Chi is actually one of the best practices for balance and relaxation. Attending a Tai Chi class is good as it will allow you master the correct form and get the best out of the practice.

Apart from what I have watched in the movies about Tai Chi, I don't know anything else about it. From what I know through movie knowledge, I picked up that it's the kind of martial arts which you make use of your Chi to train and become almost untouchable.

I think it was Tai Chi Master 1993 that's the first movie I watched of Jet Li mastering the skills and using it to beat his fellow disciple in Shaolin Temple.

Tai Chi improves flexibility, balance, and reduces stress through its gentle movements.
Tai Chi are very helpful in maintaining inner peace and easing on anxiety and general tension too. Furthermore, we also need to be aware of breathing and meditation as this can provoke help in creating quality sleep for our body.
