When we're always on the go, our bodies can get out of balance and at that time it's telling us something and that is rest. .We need to give our muscles time to relax and rebuild. Just like our phones need to recharge, our bodies need rest to stay healthy and strong. Without it, we can feel tired, grumpy, and even get sick more easily.
What do you make of this?

I totally agree with you. As someone who loves playing sports, I know how easy it is to push myself too hard. But when I don't take the time to rest and recover, I end up feeling burned out and my performance suffers. Now, I make sure to take rest for a few days and prioritize sleep. It's amazing how much of a difference it really makes.

Our bodies are like machines. When we overwork them, they breakdown. Our body needs rest to heal it self from time to time to ensure it works at its best.

I do a lot of cardio-friendly activities each week.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I usually go hiking each day or do overnight hikes. The trails are sometimes long with a lot of elevation.

I usually rest on Monday and take it easy. I always feel refreshed afterward.

I also try to get a few 20 to 60-mile bike rides in a week, as well. It's harder for me to do it when it's cold outside. So, I'll usually increase my hiking or go mountain biking for about 10 miles, but it's 10 miles of hills and rugged conditions. I'll definitely still get a good workout.

I play a lot of competitive, contact sport. DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) is a real thing and if you do not look after yourself and take the appropriate rest after strenuous physical activity, you will suffer badly and your performance will be affected for upto a week. So rest is absolutely very important for anyone who's physically active, and I'm sure this extends into those who work in professions that involve a lot of physical activity too.

There's a popular saying that goes like this; All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy. It's very important that you allow your body to rest deliberately and intentionally. You can't solve all the problems in the world.
