Overview:
The Gift of Game is the debut album by Los Angeles band Crazy Town. It was released on November 9, 1999 in the U.S. by Columbia Records. The album yielded the band its biggest hit to date with "Butterfly" which reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on March 24, 2001. Worldwide the album sold more than 2.5 million units, with more than 1.6 million in the US alone.
The girl licking the lollipop on the cover of the album is a fictional character created by Crazy Town, known as "Little Lolita". Both the album title and the picture of Little Lolita are based on lyrics from the song "Lollipop Porn". The album cover was designed by co-lead singer Shifty Shellshock's father and uncle. A song titled "Lolita" later appeared on Shellshock's solo album Happy Love Sick and her image reappears on Crazytown's third album The Brimstone Sluggers.

Overall, a good rock album that I put on back in the day.

I still have (#16) Butterfly in my playlist.

It's such a horrible thing that fame can do to some people. Shifty could've had a long career with Crazy Town, but I think he had too many problems to continue music.

Crazy to think that the music video, or Shifty, inspired me to chase a physic. I fell just short of that, but it got me into weightlifting and training that helped me out later in life.

He recently passed away, so young.

What drugs can do to a great song...

Toxic is the first single that Crazy Town did. It was a great rap rock song that I find very interesting to see and it was a huge hit. I remembered seeing it on WWE smackdown. The song is very catchy.

DarkSide is also awesome. It's one of the best songs on the album even though it's filmed on the dark side. It's still very good.

Black Cloud is a decent song but it makes me want to skip because the first three tracks I listened to are very energetic and it got me groovin. On getting to Black Cloud, it was a bit slow but if you listened to it, there are good lyrics there. But the first time I listened to the album, I skipped it as it brings me down from vibes I was getting from the previous tracks.

This album is great! It's got a lot of good songs you can groove and sing along as well. I recommend it.

I love almost all the tracks on this album, especially Butterfly. If you are a radio listener, it was super big on radio back in the day. It was so insane because it was played virtually every moment on air. Butterfly was a hit song. But I don't see it fit with other songs on the album. If you want to object to this, let me know why.

Only When I’m Drunk is one of my favourites, too. It's so groovy, and the phrases in there are so crazy. It's a good song in the album.

Hollywood Babylon is a bit slow, but because I was impatient, I didn't listen to it until recently. I found out that it was a good song, too. In fact, almost all the songs here are cool. Crazy Town did a great job putting all of these together. I enjoyed it!
