I frequently do self-criticism, this helps me to understand and accept my weakness and shortcomings, and show me the areas for improvement. However, too much self criticism also sometimes make me a negative person. If you do self criticism, it sometimes can be hard to shake off. How do you balance self criticism without over doing it?

I have done that many times but it hasn't worked so I have stopped criticizing myself because I already have many to criticize me lol.

Most of the times l found myself on that thing. I really hate that but actually l can't avoid it. It sometimes gives me the focus to move forward when l am down.

Criticism is important, but the thing is to not let it turn into self-hate. Criticism will serve you best when you use it to reflect, correct, and improve areas of your life. However, you should never use it as a stick to beat yourself with.

Self criticism is good but don't overdo it lol as it can hurt your self confidence and esteem too. So it's fine to criticise but not so much. Be proud of your abilities and achievements.

Well said, if you are too negative on yourself, you will lose self confidence, and when that happens you will struggle in your life. You should be be proud of who you are but you also shouldn't over do it.

Correct because many people keep criticising themselves that they cannot do this and they are not capable of it and all this makes them feel negative.

I believe that self-criticism is very important when you realize that you are lazy. It is important when you start realizing that you are not working hard in your life. Many people do not believe in self-criticism because they think that they do not need to improve their life. This can often lead to failure.

I have to say that self-criticism is quite effective when it is done in a constructive way. I always do too and I find life lessons from it at the end of the day. It is always encouraging to identify specific aspects of our performance that lack motivation and deal with it Head on.

Unless you have a narcissistic personality disorder you are going to be your biggest critic. That's just the nature of being human. We may feel like others are critical, but everyone is just going about their own business and has their own issues of self-doubt. Some people place more value on the criticisms others have, but the reality is YOU are your biggest critic.

When you can finally understand that you'll be able to find peace.

Yes, without self criticism there is no self improvement.

However, I self criticize only when others do it to me and I think that there is water in their arguement. For example, I recently changed the way I comment upon people's dietary habbits trying to turn them towards healthy eating. Then, I began to criticize it myself when I understood that my ways are not working.

Now, I can make far better conversations while dining with others.
