outdoors Running Outdoors

For discussions on hiking, camping, fishing, and outdoor activities.
Apart from running outdoor, I am more interested in outdoor activities especially when it has to do with sports. No other reason than my interest in connecting with nature because I find it to be more enjoyable that way. I love to run in my local parks and sometimes, when the rail line is free, I go running along the railway track too.

Just be careful with trains. It takes a fast-moving one about 20 miles to come to a complete stop.

When I was a runner, and I mean like 10+ mile runs multiple times a week, I would always run outdoors. I loved seeing new things and setting my goal post farther and farther as I'd have physical markers to try and beat.

But, I didn't get to the endurance of going 10 miles without the treadmill first. Once I could do 3-mile runs (again) in decent time, I started my outdoor runs.

I much prefer the outdoors over a treadmill because you experience so much more than looking at a tablet in front of you, or if you're stuck with an old school machine, just the wall.

After I can get over 25 body squats per set (x4-which I'm stuck at 18 due to having no upper leg muscles after rhabdo), I'll start "hiking" with my 40-pound weight vest once a week, and then try to add in a 1-1.6km run on top of that. I just can't overdo leg workouts right now as it's too risky (I'm still killing it on my upper body).
