When we first came back to Japan, broke and barely able to afford a bike to begin with, cycling was our main method of transportation. We would cycle everywhere, with just a typical bike, from getting groceries to just going out with the spare money we could use.Are any of you into outdoor cycling at all?
Glad you lost it.Here are a few pics of me on my bikes. Sadly, I don't have that long of a beard anymore, LOL.
Where are you actually from? When we first came back to Japan, broke and barely able to afford a bike to begin with, cycling was our main method of transportation. We would cycle everywhere, with just a typical bike, from getting groceries to just going out with the spare money we could use.
Yeah, true.Outdoor cycling? Isn't that just cycling?
Walking and hiking is a good activity to do as wellI don't do cycling, I don't know how to ride a bicycle.
But I like walking, hiking, and trekking. Some of my treks have taken me to an altitude of 5000 meters.
I read that there is very little difference between walking (briskly) and jogging in pure cardiovascular terms. Is this correct?Walking and hiking is a good activity to do as wellSince you're going slower on foot than on bike, you're also seeing more stuff!
I can totally relate to your experiences on using cycling as a primary mode of transportation. Where I lived, I also cycled everywhere because I found it as a way to explore my city for real. Did you really explore your community with cycling or do you just use it as a means of moving from one point to the other? When we first came back to Japan, broke and barely able to afford a bike to begin with, cycling was our main method of transportation. We would cycle everywhere, with just a typical bike, from getting groceries to just going out with the spare money we could use.
That's another point right there! Road safety becomes very crucial especially when you are cycling in cities where there are so many cars moving so fast. But when you ride in local communities, it is always safer. As a matter of fact, I cycled everywhere in my community with no fear because it's safe there.I have not owned a bike for about twenty years. Sometimes I think about getting backinon the saddle, but the roads around here can be very dangerous.
I'm not so sure. I'm not a big runner. I've tried but I'm pretty sure it looks like I'm having some sort of medical emergency when I run LOL.I read that there is very little difference between walking (briskly) and jogging in pure cardiovascular terms. Is this correct?
I think yes, there is not much difference between brisk walking and jogging in "cardiovascular terms" but when you actually do it there is a lot of differenceI read that there is very little difference between walking (briskly) and jogging in pure cardiovascular terms. Is this correct?
