discuss Is it over for Manchester City this season?

A thread for live match analysis, player performances, scores, highlights, fan predictions, and general sports discussions across all sports.
I know they are not in their best form right now, but it is still too early to write them off. They are mostly known for being serious towards the end of the season, and that is when it matters most.
Personally, I wouldn't want them to win another title, let that go to another team please, we've had enough.
But they should not be written off yet.

It's absolutely over for them, in my opinion. Yes, they have traditionally been a team that is always stronger towards the end of the season, but without Rodri for the rest of the season, they are just not the same team.

I like to think of it this way - Man City need to outperform Liverpool by at least eight points (possibly 11, given that Liverpool have a game in hand) across the rest of the season. Put simply, that means Man City would need Liverpool to lose two games and draw at least two games, while Man City go on a 23 game winning streak. That's what's required from here for them to win the title.

I'd say stranger things have happened, and true, they have... I just don't see this as a likely scenario. Liverpool are far too good right now.

They lost another match yesterday in the UEFA Champions League against Juventus 2-0.

Man City's last 10 games across all competitions have been 7 loss, 2 draw and 1 win. They've conceded 23 goals in the 10 matches.
I know that you're a Manchester United fan with your team set up to play against them this weekend in the English Premier League. Do you think your team is going to win the match?

If we are looking at the form of both teams, it's very clear Manchester City is having a worst case scenario compared to Man United.

Although City is playing at home on Sunday against Man United, it should give them an advantage.

Manchester City recently has been so poor. 7 losses in the last 10 matches are not good. But they have a good team and tjat shows that they can still make a big difference. Their performance needs to be enhance rapidly in order to find their form and have a good shot at the remainder of the season.

There are more than 12 matches left in the league this season and it would be very short sighted to believe that the league is over. Going by past seasons, we know if City is lucky enough to find their mojo and get into beast mode, they are unplayable. It is not over till they keep slumping till March before we can call it game up.

I watched Manchester City play a against Chelsea yesterday and I can tell for sure that they are not finished. City dominated the game and deservingly won. And looking at the table, they have a solid chance of finishing second place if Arsenal falter.

Manchester City lost that home game against Manchester United but since then, they have been able to turn things around in the league and still maintain their top 4 spot on the league. It's only in the UEFA Champions League they are not playing well.

Yeah, that's very correct. I'm a Manchester United fan but even though we beat them in that match, they played a better football than we did and they are still having a better season generally than my team.
