fitness Ice baths

This general fitness thread covers all aspects of fitness, including workouts, nutrition, wellness tips, lifestyle changes, and fitness advice.
I haven't taken icebaths. However, I have taken cold showers. Both cold showers and ice baths nake your body strong. Some sources have also suggested that regularly taking cold showers or icebaths could possibly improve the immune system as well.

I think foot deep would shrivel me up enough where it wouldn't matter after that LOL I don't like the cold.
I'm going to have to give it a try though.

There's an ice bath at our gym here, I just have to take the uncomfortable "kicking sensation" for a couple moments until everything adjusts, and see if there's any benefit to it.

After a shoulder workout, I get stiff tendons so I need to ice them 20 on 20 off until the pain goes away. I wonder if an ice bath would do that immediately...

I think your body will go numb pretty quickly and it won't be as bad after the initial entrance.

I cross creeks barefoot in the winter on hikes. It sucks for the initial couple of seconds, but your feet go numb pretty quickly.

I'm talking about a specific body part. I'm already sensitive to changes in temperatures, so even entering a pool is challenging.

I get the "kicked in the hips" feeling that jets upward for about a minute after getting in a pool — not too comfortable
