I have a lot of friends on my Facebook account which I've seen some of them doesn't have anything to post on their own except sharing other people's and pages post. They don't try to verify whatever they were going to share to know if it's true or false. Constantly seeing all they share is very annoying which is why I unfollow them to stop seeing anything they share unless I personally go to their wall.

How do you feel about those who overshare things on social media?

I first read this as "oversharing" details of an experience, which I suppose is fitting too.

In both instances, I just scroll on. Blocking them from my feed could get important things that I want to see not shown.

I simply unfollow or mute those that consistently overshare or share irrelevant things. I don't really want them to spoil my online experience.

This is unfortunately going to make you lose or miss out on some information that might have been useful to you if you end unfollowing the person. Unless you will be going to check his wall from time to time.

People who share excessive information on social media do wish to be noticed by their audience but I think it should be done in moderation.
This. There are some things that they shouldn’t be shared on social media.

What I do is when I find out most of what they are share is false and fake news targeted to boost traffic to the source it came from, I'll unfollow the account. I try to follow official pages that post credible information which are true.

It is very unfortunate that a lot of people would do absolutely anything possible to just get views because of the potential of making money from social media platform. I'm sure that is why they share all manner of things and post all kinds of contents.

There's enough money to be grabbed on social media, it's why I sometimes ignore some of the things people to to earn from it because those sites took too long before they started recognising people's effort.

One of the things that put me off Facebook as much as it has is that many of my friends and even family members would overshare way too much or they would post nothing but great things about their life and never add in the bad things.

I am all for people who want to share good things that happen in their life and will congratulate them when they do but when you see people constantly sharing too much that probably should not be on social media, it can be too much.

Quite a lot of people overshare things on social media, even my friends do too. What baffles me more is that they only share the good things which could easily make you compare your life with theirs and if care is not taken, it can take a toll on your mental health. Ever since I knew this, I take social media with a grain of salt and I always have it in the back of my mind that nobody posts about their difficult moments.

This is exactly how I felt when I was using Facebook, it was always the good things that were shared giving the perspective that nothing bad ever happens in others lives but it seems to happen to you a lot and it took a huge toll on my mental health, it was one of the reasons why I ended up moving away from Facebook and now only use the platform if I need to look for something or at something.

There should be a limit of what I can share on social media or even the Internet. I can't be telling everyone what I cook daily, for example, as that is a clear sign of oversharing things on the internet.

I think that people should only share what would be helpful to other people. You don't just share for the sake of sharing. When I see something striking on Facebook, I share. But not just sharing random stuff.
