Apart from playing games just for the fun of it, there are games that teaches you a lot of lessons. It might be life lessons, academic, trivial or general knowledge.
However some argue that these games do not really work like that. Once you are done playing you have forgotten it all.

I beg to differ, because I have learned a lot from games that I have played.
What do you think?

I like educational games because they enhance my thinking faculty and also help with improving problem solving skills significantly. I've heard of Duolingo. They said it's a good educational game. I might try it someday.

Speaking of learning something or acquiring knowledge from playing video games, I did that with learning how to drive from playing video games. There's a game called Driver, playing it helped me so much when it comes to mastering how to drive and park very well in my selected spot. It's one of the best educative games that I've played.

I couldn't imagine how hard I would fail the driving test if I learned from a video game.

Back then, it was 10 and 2 on the steering wheel at all times (I think they recommend 9 and 3 now). If I learned to drive with a steering controller, it would've been programmed in me to drive with one hand, which is what I do now anyway, but it would be an automatic fail on the driving test.

Spot on! Ever since I started driving, I can't remember driving with both hands on the steering. It's one hand that I use and it's my left hand most of the time. My father screams at me whenever I drive using one hand with him in the same car 😂

It has already been proven that games and gamification in general can make learning fun and improve learning outcomes.

Studies show both can improve memory, vocabulary and reading skills, mathematical skills, reasoning and perception, critical thinking, and eye-hand coordination. For this reason, these studies recommend that educators and parents/guardians find ways to incorporate games and gamification into learning and lessons.

Exactly. It's in the same vein that video game can be very positive in teaching is the same way it can be negative when it comes to impact. It all depends on the kind of video games that you're playing. It's why when it comes to kids, parents or guardian should be very well involved in choosing their games.

Educational games can certainly make learning fun. Students might not be able to grasp concept from text book and if you use interactive content, games for example, learning will not only be fun but also easy to understand

Kids of nowadays hardly make out time to read books. It's why finding other creative ways to make them learn is very important and using video games have done so well in that aspect.

Definitely yes, if there is one thing that games do, it is that they make everything more fun, even the story, which for some is very boring, video games make it more fun, so the answer is definitely yes, games can make learning more enjoyable. the most fun

Well, everything depends on the kind of video games someone is playing. As much as it's possible to learn from games, there are certain video games that doesn't add anything like educational values to who's playing them.

Of course, usually games make it easier to understand or even pay attention to things which would otherwise be so difficult to comprehend or even to even focus on. So, it makes learning easier.

They have short attention span and one has to use innovative ways to pass knowledge across to them. With video games, they are learning and having fun at the same time.

If you ask me, I would say that they're or the majority of them more into the fun part of playing video games than the acquiring of knowledge from the game.

I concur to this, I also believe that through game education, learning can become more entertaining. Games might help children to cope better with education. I think it’s good because you can study without having that horrible school feeling in your head.

Educational games are great not only for learning but to make learning fun as well. With my kids they used to play a lot of games that were learning based and with things I did with them and the games they played, it really did help them with their learning and school.

I am in support of educational games because they make it easier for children to learn something new and at the same time have fun. This keeps the kid’s morale high and makes them eager to learn. Fun games are a useful tool that can make children learn better in class and acquire appropriate skills.

Well said. Learning and at the same time having fun, it doesn't get better than that. The importance of educational games on kids cannot be overemphasized.

Yes, educational games can make learning fun. They are a good way to improve problem-solving skills. My nephew enjoys playing educational games, and he has become more interested in learning new things.

Video games are an excellent means when it comes to learning new things. It's very effective for problem-solving and make learning process much more enjoyable. Educational games are rather effective for children and also do not make learning boring.
