There's a setting in Google play store or Apple store which will have all the applications in your phone automatically updated whenever there's a new update available. Apps updates is necessary because each version comes with a security and features upgrade to give a better experience with using the app.

Do you automatically update all the applications on your smartphone?

For the sake of managing my internet subscription, I don't allow my smartphones to be auto updated. Some app updates are really huge that they can finish your bandwidth in the process of updating and leave you stranded. I prefer to manually update when I know the conditions is right for me.

I'm prompted to update my apps because I did not allow automatic update. I try to read reviews to know whether it is advisable for me to update. I had experienced issues with some updates in the past that I had to uninstall the apps until the developers improved on them.

My experience with Instagram's new updates being very buggy than the previous ones is one of the reasons why I don't ever auto update their app or any other in my smartphone.

If you go to the App Store, click the account icon, and slide your finger down on that screen it will tell you apps need updating. At least, that's how it works on iPhone 11.
That sounds strange because it's not supposed to work that way with auto update of apps but I will take your time word for it since I don't make use of iPhone 11 or any kind of iPhone at all.

As long as you finally updates your apps which ever way the phone's OS allows you to do it without making it difficult, it's totally fine by me.

I have encountered both positive and negative experiences with automatic app updates. Getting automatic software upgrades can be useful until I discover certain applications that fail or stop working properly after updating themselves. I choose to update apps by hand in order to carefully assess the modifications that each version brings.

The situation with auto-updating not meeting user expectations for certain individuals appears surprising to me. I have experienced effortless automatic app updates which provide me the advantage of receiving latest versions without any action from my part.
The only action which I know that's required from your part is to enable automatics app update. Whenever a new version software update of the app is available, the automatic update will run immediately.

I have all my smartphone apps set to auto-update as I am terrible at checking them regularly to be sure they are up to date. I will admit, sometimes my phone even though it is set for apps to auto update, in some cases has not and I have been alerted by the app that I need to update to continue using the app.
