discuss Would you get an AI robot that’ll do things for you?

A thread covering the latest news on trends, groundbreaking technologies, and digital innovations reshaping the tech landscape.
would you purchase an AI robot?
Yes, I can really consider buying an AI robot to assist me in my day-to-day routines. Imagining a pair of helping hands for household chores, cooking, and other little functions would change the situation for people with busy lives or even more to people who have some mobility issues.

The scope of these AI robots extending into areas such as healthcare and companionship for the elderly is immense. It's really a good development.

There is a restaurant in my town where there are robots as waiter
Same here, but it still takes someone to load the robot to deliver the food to the table. So, until cooks are robots, there's still a job not lost.

Would I get an AI robot for anything? No. I would prefer to do things on my own to get right. AI can't seem to get anything right these days. And, when they can get it right, still no, as it would take some pleasures of living away and make me dependent on it instead of myself.

Remember the movie, AI? With the little boy robot?

I wonder if it will eventually come to that? AI children, AI love bots, etc.

I know people are already "speaking to their dead loved ones" with AI. I don't think I could do that. They're dead.
There are actually love bots too. That’s a weird fetish.

AI worries me as it seems they are developing AI at a fast pace at the moment. As with any technology, problems and even malfunctions are possible and that would be my main worry when it comes to getting an AI robot that could do daily tasks for me.

The incentive is there as who wouldn't love to have a robot do certain tasks so you had more time for others, but the real worry is it not working out and you having to go back and complete those tasks anyway.

I won't be leaning on AI robot for my everyday chores. It will probably save me some effort to have a robot do things for me, but I feel worried that I will start depending too much on it and forgetting the basic home care skills that I have.
My AI robot would probably be used as a scare crow for deer trying to get in my garden!
