music Who's the King of RnB?

For threads introducing new music releases, discoveries, or recommendations.
Usher is one of my favorite RnB artists, but I also enjoy listening to Boyz II Men and think they're awesome! I remember jamming to their music when I was super young, in the 1990's.

I love the iconic hits of Usher and Chris Brown and his dance moves.
So right! We can't deny the fact that Usher and Chris Brown are legends, especially when we talk of smooth vocals, not to mention their interesting dance moves. I want to learn does dance moves but keep messing it up. 🤣

Wow! This is nolstalgic. I remembered how I wrote down the lyrics of Boyz II Men's songs back in the day. Their sound is timeless, they still hold up today. I fell In love with their vocals each time I listened to their songs.

Boyz ll Men’s “a song for mama” is one of my favorite songs.

I also like listening to Donnel Jones. His songs “you know what’s up” and “where I wanna be” were my favorites when I was a teenager.

I like Stevie Wonder very much. I also like Whitney Houston. I think they are some of the greatest artist in this genre. MJ is good bt I don't listen to him

My opinion is that Old School RNB is different from new age RNB.

You want to compare artists like Marvin Gaye with someone like Chris Brown? They may both technical be RnB singers, but I do not think you can compare their music.

I am a huge fan of Usher. I've been following him for years, and I really love his music. To this day, I can’t stop listening to his songs. One of my favorite tracks is “Can You Help Me.”
Usher is a legendary RnB singer. Most of his songs are lovely, and up to now, I still enjoy them. He has a special voice, which many viewers like. I also like listening to his songs, and my favourite songs is ‘Yeah’ and ‘Burn’.

It's R. Kelly. He was talented and had a successful career in R&B. He was rewarded with many awards and he had influence on other musicians including Chris Brown and Celine Dion.
Joe was also pretty good. Donell Jones has some classic songs as well.

Where do you think Drake stands when it pertains to r&b? He makes a lot of r&b songs too.

Maxwell is another r&b artist that was pretty popular back in the day.

Well, let me jump in. I know Drake has released some good music but, I do not believe that Drake is an R&B artist per say. He is rather more of a rapper who occasionally infuses elements of R&B into his songs. Usher is much more standard R&B singers.

Drake is a core rapper. He even does a blend of hip hop and RnB. And not the kind of RnB that people like Neyo and Usher do. I think Neyo can be in the running for King of RnB. It is not a definitive selection in this era.
