Video Assistant Referee (VAR) was invented and introduced in football with the purpose of filling the gaps that has been caused by referees on the field. But from the looks of it, it has taken away the excitement of the beautiful game.
Football back then when there was no VAR was still golden, we all enjoyed it, despite some few mistakes from the referees who are also humans.
The use of VAR has been inconsistent, and most players who score now don't start celebrating until they confirm the goal is not being reviewed by VAR.
Personally, I think the football world was doing just fine without it. I would have called for it to be scrapped but apparently it is here to stay.
What do you think about VAR?

I love and hate it in equal measure. It does take some fun and sting out of highly competitive games, but it is a crucial intervention in many situations.

If they could get the VARs to work with much better technology than we have today, I think it would be a much better addition to football. An example I keep running into is Hawk Eye in tennis. That tech is almost flawless, and it has improved the game quite a bit since it was introduced.

The aim of the football governing bodies is to use VAR (Video Assistant Referee) to help promote fair play in football. But despite that, I've seen where the referee still makes bad decisions even when using the VAR. Another frustrating thing is delaying matches. For me, to make VAR better, I’ll suggest that referees should be given clearer rules to follow and faster reviews.

VAR is very helpful in big calls like goals and penalties. But I don't seem to like it sometimes because it's so slow or confusing. I don't advise getting rid of it. We can make it work better, especially by offering enough training to the referees on how to use it well and make reviews faster. This way, football will be fun and fair all through.

I support VAR. This technology has been in use in cricket for a long time and it has helped umpires to deliver fair decision and with the use of VAR, the decisions will be fair and no one has to complain that they were a victim of bad decision.

I concur with this, VAR has made a lot of sense especially in making right decisions in the games. The use of this technology has minimized controversy and enhanced accuracy as well.
