I was reading up on some weird laws from around the world and stumbled across one that made me laugh: apparently, in the city of York, England, it’s legal to shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow, but only if they’re within the city walls and it’s not a Sunday.

Now, obviously, this law isn’t enforced (thankfully!), but it got me thinking: what other bizarre or outdated laws exist where you live? Have you ever come across a rule that made you go, “Wait, that’s a thing?!”

Dancing was illegal on certain days of the week. It wasn't even associated with religion, either.

I work in a facility that is under a legislation that requires it to be on top of water. They've since left the boat and moved it to a structure on land. In order to comply with the law, we have giant bags of water under the building to say we're above water. That is no joke, LOL.

Many years ago when I was in school the city mayor introduced a rule where it was punishable for boys to grow long hair and for girls to wear miniskirt.
