Facebook is the most popular social media site in the world but it's not the first which came out. Six Degrees was the first one which was launched in 1997.

Sadly, it shutdown in 2001 before Friendster, MySpace, and finally Facebook came out.

What's your first used social media site?

Facebook is the first social media that I signed up with. I registered my Facebook account on 2014. At the time, twitter and other social media sites were not even half as popular as Facebook.

The very first social media site I ever used was MySpace. I always remember MySpace, it was such a great place and a place where I met quite a few friends at the time.

It was a shame when MySpace changed, I believe it became a social media site for music at one point but not sure now.

There is a social media site out there that is very much like MySpace called SpaceHey

Myspace was the first social media that I ever used. I also made some good chunk of money when it was around as I ran some myspace fan sites. After Myspace, I started using Facebook and Mocospace.

There was this social website that I joined in 2002 and it was called Friendsster. I think it was the first I joined. I still remember spending some hours customizing my profile and connecting with friends there.

For me ICQ was the first social connection platform with the world, followed by Yahoo chat and much later I registered on Facebook. I remember being so excited on ICQ as you could randomly connect to a stranger and chat without having to show your face. It was all new idea for me back then.

ICQ was my main messenger system until AIM, which the latter introduced me to (m)IRC and I used it for what was needed, and AIM for chatting.

As for social media, MySpace was the first platform that I used because it was widely known in high school at that time. I believe we started shifting over to Facebook in our senior year, though.

I started with Facebook then when Instagram started becoming popular I moved to Instagram. These days I am mostly active on Instagram and Tiktok
