If you are religious, probably you are practicing religion. But what exactly is practicing religion? Is having deep connection to God and following the path mentioned in the books enough or do you need to go to religious institution regularly, pray to God regularly, and if someone mocks your religion, try to defend religion, or even fight for religion.

I think practicing religion is a spectrum from the acknowledgment of the basic religious beliefs and practices, without all the participation, to a fuller extent of praying daily, going to church, etc., and making it a larger part of one's life.

When you practice religion, you keep to the principles of that religion. You abide by the teachings and attend worship sessions regularly. You do the things that the religious doctrine tells you to do. And you are conscious of your religion in your dealings.
