Does anybody have any experience with taking vitamin supplements or additional minerals?

I have been quite unfit for most of my life, and have some health conditions, and have been considering whether I should begin adding vitamin supplements to my daily routine. I've read some mixed reviews of supplements online, ranging from some claiming life-changing benefits to some saying they have zero effect at all.

I'm never quite sure whether these are real people or just advertising bait, so I'm interested to hear from some real people who've tried supplements - did they have any noticeable benefit for you? If so, what supplements were you taking and how often? Finally, if you've taken supplements, would you recommend them?

Thanks in advance for any responses! :)

Vitamins and supplements are made to supplement vitamin and supplement deficiencies.
I have been quite unfit for most of my life,
So if you are unfit, it couldn't hurt to add a multivitamin to supplement the vitamins that you aren't getting through your regular diet. That said, you should adjust your diet to get those vitamins that you're lacking with real nutrients until you can get on track with a proper diet.

That said, I take the Centrum 40+ multi-vitamin just in case. I don't believe that it can hurt to take one as your body will only absorb what it needs (except for iron... some things can stack and become dangerous, but for the sake of a multivitamin, it shouldn't be an issue with the recommended dose).

I also take TUDCA for my liver. And even though my diet is comprised of fish quite often, I'll still take Omega 3s.

Thanks for the response! I've never eaten any kind of seafood in my life - I sort of have a phobia of eating anything that comes from the sea. :ROFLMAO: Given that, I most likely do have some sort of deficiency in Omega 3 - I have considered an Omega 3 supplement in the past, but the oily/fishy nature and smell of the supplement itself puts me off, it makes me feel physically sick to even think about!

Are you aware of any Omega 3 supplement or food containing it that isn't so... fishy?

yes, I have taken vitamins and nutrient supplements. Sometimes no matter how balanced diet you take, you will end up with some vitamin deficiencies and you will have to supplement your deficiencies with synthetic vitamins and minerals. I have taken D vitamins multiple times.

I have consumed a few vitamin supplements in the past. However, we must realize that not all kinds of vitamin supplements are the same. Some vitamin supplements do not work at all.
