discuss Tesla has lost half its value since December

This thread covers all aspects of ideologies, including beliefs, principles, traditions, policies, and their influence on society and culture.
Yeah, you can't justify this stuff legally, but it does give strong insight into how extremist the Republican message has gotten.
What "message"?

Reduced fraud, waste, and abuse? Democrats wanted this before. Now, they have it with DOGE and don't want it? Why might that be?

Musk has made Nazis signs in public. What else can you say? He's not some grade-school kid making a joke.
A tired argument made.

Let's just say he did this and is a Nazi. What was the goal of Nazism and facsism?

Compare and contrast that to DOGE and cutting government agencies.

I'll await a response.

Musk and Trump have turned the white house into a clown-show, just the same as Biden was doing.
You still haven't answered my question.

Use ChatGPT if you need to define Nazism and fascisim. Then, compare that to government agency and spending cuts.

You can't deny that a new movement is on the rise, as far as looking at Musk's 4-chan-ish ways of thinking. Well, I guess you couldn't call it "classic Naziism", could you?

So you're admitting that you're using Nazism and facism out of context, and believe that they are implementing a new type of governance. In this new form, what does it most represent?

Attorney General Pam Bondi warns Tesla vandals: ‘We’re coming after you

  • Attorney General Pam Bondi warned that the Justice Department will investigate attacks on Tesla vehicles and dealerships. Bondi said one person is already facing up to 20 years in prison for throwing a Molotov cocktail at a dealership.
  • A “Tesla Takedown” movement has been spreading as people protest Elon Musk’s budget cuts and mass firings under the Department of Government Efficiency.
  • President Trump pledged this week that perpetrators would be caught.
  • According to Bondi, one person is now behind bars facing up to 20 years in prison after throwing a Molotov cocktail through a dealership. Bondi says police across the U.S. are investigating vandalism and attacks, including another incident where gunshots were fired at a Tesla showroom.

The website “Tesla Takedown” has become a hub for people protesting Musk’s budget cuts and mass firings of federal workers as part of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Bondi said they’re targeting Musk for his political affiliation.

What has Trump said about the Tesla vandalism?

President Donald Trump said earlier this week he’d be open to labeling those who attack Tesla as domestic terrorists.

“We already know who some of them are; we are going to catch them. If you do it to any company, we will catch you, and you are gonna go through hell,” Trump said at the White House.

On Wednesday, March 12, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., posted to X, “The attacks must be investigated as domestic terrorism.” Greene added she and her colleagues sent a letter to Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel asking for the Justice Department investigation.

Finally, law and order, especially for domestic terrorism. Hopefully, it'll make these astroturfing protestors think twice.

Well, sorry to run Canada in the ground, but considering Trump's fixation with it - of which he hasn't repented, we can see that Trump's vision is American imperialism, not cooperation.

If attacking Tesla drivers or vandalising their property when left untended to destroying Tesla dealerships doesn't fit this definition because they do not support Elon Musk or the actions of DOGE, I don't know if there's any convincing you that it's not domestic terrorism.
You're very good at avoiding counter arguments and directing the narrative.

Is this not also domestic terrorism?

The January 6th Insurrectionists who tried to overthrow a democratically elected government, storming the Capitol killing five and injuring many others. They were 'Patriots' and 'great people' according to Agent Orange, and they were eventually pardoned.

Being pissed off that Musk is a Nazi sympathiser and damaging Tesla dealerships is not an attempt to overthrow a democratically elected government. Guess what, NOBODY elected Elon Musk.

Many things contain a possible strong negative reaction. I mean, unless you were born yesterday, you'd know not to say certain things to enrage a buying public.
Either born yesterday or sufficiently loaded with hubris to think you can do what you please and people will just smile and move on. He's learning a hard lesson here.

Tesla board members, executive sell off over $100 million of stock in recent weeks

Shares of Tesla have plunged nearly 50% since a peak in mid-December

As Tesla stock has fallen in recent weeks, members of the board and an executive at Elon Musk's company have been selling off millions of dollars in stock, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Together, four top officers at the company have offloaded over $100 million in shares since early February.

Last week, longtime Musk ally James Murdoch -- the estranged son of Fox boss Rupert Murdoch and a board member since 2017 -- became the latest to do so, exercising a stock option and selling shares worth approximately $13 million, according to an SEC filing. The sale took place on March 10, coinciding with the stock's largest single-day decline in five years.

According to one filing, the shares were sold "to cover the exercise price relating to the exercise of stock options to purchase 531,787 shares, which are scheduled to expire in 2025."

Elon Musk's brother, Kimbal Musk, who also sits on the board, unloaded 75,000 shares worth approximately $27 million last month, according to a filing.

The chairman of the board, Robyn Denholm, has offloaded more than $75 million dollars worth of shares in two transactions in the past five weeks, federal filingsshow. The selloffs made by Denholm came as part of a predetermined sales plan.

A number of board members and executives made similar moves in November and December. But the recent sales come at a tumultuous time for Tesla, with the stock falling nearly 50% from a peak in mid-December. The company's shares have suffered most of those losses since President Donald Trumptook office and Musk began his controversial governmental cost-cutting efforts as the head of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency.

Whenever insiders, including directors, are selling shares, it's not a positive signal," Jay Ritter, a professor of finance at the University of Florida, told ABC News.

However, Ritter added, an exception applies to the predetermined sales plan adopted by Denholm in July 2024, which marks a routine effort to avoid the perception an officer unloaded shares based on inside information.

"Filing a plan months ago to sell some of those shares over time is common," Ritter said.

Nothing is illegal about a boycott.

Everything is illegal about breaking and entering, damage of property, unlawfully discharging of a firearm posing risk to others, and of course, your favored "insurrectionist" charge of trespassing on properties owned or operated by Tesla.

@HarshWorld has a point, but they can't make people buy Teslas, and the company is sinking because people won't buy them.

The company only seems like it's sinking because of its insane P/E ratio and the inflated market that Covid stimulus created.

If you compare this to other American auto manufacturers, Ford and General Motors are at 6.46 and 6.81 respectively. You can argue that Tesla isn't an auto company and more of a tech company, but even if you pit it up against the overvalued Nvidia, it has a P/E ratio of 39.29; Tesla is nearly 3 times that!

The market is still determining its value. So, while it appears to be "crashing", it's really correcting to a fair market value.

That said, I would never short Tesla because you could get burned. And, this might even be a great opportunity to buy. It's one stock I haven't dipped into, but wish I had from the beginning with as many splits as it had (a 5:1 and a 3:1, making one 2010 $17 IPO share fifteen shares equal to $3,375 in 2025—a 19753% return [42.3% annualized] at these lows and 43006% return [50% annualized] at the peak, so it's no wonder why it's "crashing" [people are taking off the top too, and who would blame them]).

The company is sinking because Elon Musk is a bellend. In typical narcissist style, he just can't see why people have turned against him. Not only a bellend but a delusional one.
Now it's getting insane.

There is a site that shows names and addresses on it of Tesla owners. The only way to get removed from the site is to show proof that you sold the Tesla. That's extortion. In my line of work, we send people to prison for that.

But here's the thing, since that site went up, Teslas are being damaged or destroyed. It's almost borderline domestic terrorism.

People in the city are the victims. Do that in the country, you risk getting shot. There's your "shot in America" statistic - some good ole F*** around and find out.

It could be, but they'll have to proof that. Musk called him out for it, which caused the media to run with the story. I believe a lot of people are getting sick of Musk's antics.

He also claimed that he doesn't know why people are doing this. It's wild, but his antics are probably causing all the problems for him. You can find multiple reports on various social media sites talking about him. A lot of people are also fed up that he's involved with government policies, when he wasn't elected.
