suggestion Official "LOL Shop" suggestions thread

For proposing new ideas or improvements for the forum.
Thanks to @Aufscherin's helpful feedback on the "Look at the Lights" username effect, we've renamed it to "Cherries & Berries" to better match the item and its actual behavior. We recognize that describing it as a "glow" was incorrect, as the effect flashes blue and amber against a white hue, resembling a U.S. police vehicle's emergency lights in a foggy night setting, which matches the ROFLMAO's forum style colors.

As such, a full sell-back price of Ṩ500 will be given for the next week to those who wish to return the item and purchase something else.
Very kind of you but seeing as I am now used to it, I think that I will be keeping it.

I very much like this 'Halo of Righteousnes'. It's much cheaper than 'The Ring of Fire' and looks nicer. :)

We're glad you're happy with it!

You earn LOL Coins for almost every action on ROFLMAO, except for giving reactions. However, you can earn them when others react to your content. So, focus on creating quality posts that encourages other users to engage with you.

On top of that, we're always looking to add more items to the LOL Shop. We're aiming for 50-100 different items, giving members the chance to showcase their unique style with something that might not be available or attractive to others.

We can't wait to hear more of your ideas!

Since Cherries & Berries is a popular user name effect, we've added Firestarter to the list of user name effects.

Firestarter has been added to the LOL Shop at a cost of Ṩ800 LOL Coins.

There are 5 available for purchase.

Reminder: You can earn more LOL Coins with more activity on ROFLMAO or you can sell back your items to get some LOL Coins back.

I don't like the fact that almost all of my coins have expired. This is pure bullshit. They were earned and we ought to be able to save them up. So stupid to have an expiry date on them....stupid!

This concept is primarily about taxation.

You've been alerted 55 times since joining that your LOL Coins have expired. Each time they expired, you received a notification.

To prevent your LOL Coins from expiring, you can store them in the Bank where they'll accrue daily interest at a rate of 0.5% (though this could change). Another option is to buy LOL Shop items as collectibles, which can be kept "Inactive" and "Hidden" if you wish. Once these items are removed from the Shop, they may gain value, allowing you to sell them to another user later on for more than you purchased them for. Even if you can't resell them, they'll still serve as a store of value as you can sell them back for fewer LOL Coins at any time.

To accumulate LOL Coins, you need to stay active by either banking or purchasing items, and of course, participating in the community. Otherwise, they'll vanish from the ecosystem.

Currently, we've decided not to implement stealing, but it's a feature we may consider in the future. This would allow new members to steal from old inactive members who haven't let their LOL Coins expire. However, stealing would involve risk; you could either gain LOL Coins or lose your own in the process.

I wanted to save up my coins in order to buy some big ticket items simultaneously. Now as far as I'm concerned......you know what you can do with them right?;)

P.S. I am out of here.(n)

We are not going to refund the 383 expired LOL Coins. You received numerous notifications that would have allowed you to ask why the first, second, third, and eventually, the 55th batches of LOL Coins expired. If we were to refund yours, we would need to do the same for each member's expired LOL Coins, going through the log and adding each expired transaction up for a total tally.

If you had inquired about those alerts sooner, you would have understood how to use the Bank and store value in items. Then, you wouldn't be facing this issue now, and you would have been earning 5 or more LOL Coins daily through deposits and interest, instead of losing them.

You're not a hostage, so this reaction is a bit much.

You earn around 5-15 LOL Coins per post, plus an extra 1 per reaction for your contributions to the community. It wouldn't be hard to make 30 on-topic posts in one day to recover what you lost. With the number of threads available, you could likely do this in about 30 minutes.

As the name implies, just keeping it Real with you,
ROFLMAO Admin
