In UK political circles the debate is raging about if they should invest more into hiring music teachers to schools inthe public education system.

What is your oinion? Should schools dip into public exchequer and pay for music teachers in the school? Or is it your view that music is more like a hobby and that it should be upon parents and students taking music electively to finance the human resources for teaching music as a subject?

Wouldnt children who dont want to study music also have to dip into their finances to pay for a subject that hardly interests them?

As someone who took music at school and it is helped me out greatly in life, I believe hiring more music teachers is a good idea. I am not sure how it is done anywhere else in the world but here in the UK which is where the debate is happening, music is a choice for GCSE's and not something that is forced.

I do know that most colleges now offer courses in which music is a GCSE result they need and without that, they would not be able to pursue their career goals.

In my country, music is taught in all primary schools but it becomes elective in high school. Considering the development in the music industry, a lot of people are now pursuing music as a career because it is very lucrative. I mean, musical artists are raking in six figures big time. Though it has a lot of challenges, but if you can overcome the hurdles, it's worth it in the end.

Music is not just a hobby now. It is also a profession that is contributing to the economy of countries. I also feel like that music should be integrated more into the educational system. And government should employ more music teachers in public schools and set up standard music studios in those schools.
