I would pick Battletoads (1991) on the Nintendo Entertainment System. You progress by defeating an enemy and avoiding dangers in the environment. It was notorious for its difficulty-a wrong move sends you back to the beginning of the level or the entire game. This game has no saving system or password features. Modern games usually have autosaves and checkpoints.
What old-school game do you think is more difficult than modern games in your opinion?

I can't recall if I've ever fully completed it either.

But, I get the frustration of passing levels and giving up.
I can pretty well say that I didnt complete it.

Those times are the times in whcih we played on our computer with a cheap joystick and a laser gun type of thingy. The controllers were botched up and most of the time did not work.

I wonder, if I had a computer then, I would have won!
