What do you think about music as a career option?

With AI taking over the creative content generation field and reducing patronage for arts and liberal subjects like music, would you consider being a musician as a full time career? Would you permit your children to be a musician despite knowing that the earning potential is very less?

I would have loved a career in music and have been writing songs since I was 15. Unfortunately, my parents wouldn't let me.
Do you think you could have made a living with a career is music?

Just yesterday, I bought a song on iMusic. But that was only because I was using an iPhone. Otherwise, if I was using Android, then I wouldnt have had to pay for it at all.

It’s really hard to break into the music industry as an independent artist, but it’s possible.

You can upload your music to all the streaming services with DistroKid, Tunecore or CdBaby along with UnitedMasters. You’ll make your own money without the backing of a record label.

I don't really know an answer to this, but I know AI is pushing people out of things so we need to research AI-proof job options.
Do you mean to say that music is an AI proof career option or that AI will slowly invade music so those considering it as a career option must either move out or have a backup plan?

AI won’t evade music as there’s still a lot of original artists around.

It would be very surprising if record labels take old artists vocals and create new music using AI.

I would recommend being original with music and not use AI as your foundation.

I think it will be only a while before AI invades music too.

While I am hopefull that it will not be as original as the music which we prefer to enjoy, I am quite sure that it will flood the industry with AI generated music that we will see it as a new genre or even begin to enjoy it.

Kind of, it will become the new normal :D
