There have been many books that were made into movies. While some were based on the book totally, others were inspired by them. Many a times I feel that the movies don't do full justice to the books. But there have been cases where the movie is much better than the book or at par with the book. "Fault in our stars" is one movie that is at par with the book. Harry Potter s series have done justice to the fantasy writing of Jk Rowling. But then there are some that don't do that justice.

A lot of the movies I watch is based on a book. My husband isn't really a reader like I am, however, I can normally get him to watch the movie with me in most cases. For example, my husband hasn't read any of the Harry Potter books but he's watched the all the movies with me.

I think I liie the way Macbeth was acted or inspired by the book of Macbeth. I got to understand it better this way
Macbeth wasn't a book.

Comparing books to movies is like comparing apples to oranges. They are both fruit, but they are totally different. Books are designed to require the use of imagination. This is why they are the superior form of storytelling. You have to use your brain to fill in the blanks from the words of the author. Movies fill those gaps in for you. They do not challenge you to think for yourself. There is no point in comparing the two.

Books also give you an insight into the motivations of a character that movies don't. It's a rare and special movie which exposes what a person is thinking. Books give you - in many examples of the art - the internal workings of the main character.

If you compare books to movies you're going to be disappointed. Instead, think of them as different mediums for story telling and don't let one influence the other.
