While jogging in the park, I noticed a lot of people walking leisurely talking on phones for almost twenty to thirty minutes. I also see some people come and sit on benches just to talk or use their smartphones. A lot of kids also distracted by smartphones, are hooked onto You tube or the like to scroll up some reels while the playground awaits emptily. Has the use of smartphone turn into a pastime? Will it soon be termed as one of the hobbies?

Well, using smartphone is certainly becoming a pass time. If you check social media platforms, you would be spending hours without even noticing. People from all ages and background are using smatrphone. I know a lot of people who say making Tiktoks or Reels is their hobby.

That is one undesirable thing about this generation of phone users.i could remember when I was still young and mobile device was not rampant, those were the happy days. There were a lot of activities to enjoy. But now everyone is glued to their phones most of the time, almost becoming like we're slaves of our devices now.

I don't think that using smartphones would be considered a hobby. Smartphone is now becoming a necessity for many people, as many people rely on it. Having said that, we couldn't imagine that smartphone would become a necessity at some point.

I would agree that using mobiles is becoming a pastime, and it is a shame to see. Over the years, though, and as technology has advanced, mobile phones have not become like mini PC's in our bags or pockets, and it is so easy to just browse and lose track of time.

I would go as far as to say that mobile phones are, to an extent, becoming an addiction.

Yes, using mobile phones has become a pastime for me. I spend a lot of time browsing social media, watching videos, and keeping up with news. It’s convenient and offers endless entertainment, though I try to limit my screen time.

That's true. Some people are always fully convinced and excited about making use of mobile devices to pass the time. I can consider it a hobby for them because it helps them to relax while having a good time.
