No, yoga doesn't do much to stop depression. Depression is caused by various factors, so getting into the root of the problem can address depression. Until or unless you address the main cause, you can't stop depression just by doing some strange poses alone.
 
Yoga has really helped me manage anxiety and depression. The combination of mindful breathing, movement, and meditation allows me to focus on the present moment, calming my mind and reducing stress. The physical postures help release tension and improve overall well-being, while the deep breathing exercises activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation.
 
I find a lot of benefits in yoga, particularly in treating anxiety and depression. The cardio, strength and relaxation exercises such as postures, breathing methods and meditations help in dealing with the condition or get rid of the symptoms. I have found my mood and sleep to be better because of Yoga.
I can support this, being that I’m a fitness expert and a physical therapist, it really helps.
