discuss Favorite search engine?

A thread covering the latest news on trends, groundbreaking technologies, and digital innovations reshaping the tech landscape.
I have always preferred Google search engine because it's like the synonym of search and have captured the market with their accurate results.

I also like Google for searching. It can be a good search engine that normally provides me with what I am in search for most of the time. Many people use Mozilla Firefox as web-browser, but it is not search engine. Of course, with Firefox, you can go to Google or any other search engine, which is rather helpful.

The first search engines that I used were Ask Jeeves, Excite, and Altavista. You probably couldn't even recognize those names now. Then, I got my first email address, @yahoo.com, and learned that Yahoo! was a search engine too. So, I switched all my searching over to there as it just made life simpler.

Google finally came along and changed search as I knew it, forever, by providing more accurate search results.

I'm now hooked on Google, but I know that they hide and derank pages that could be exactly what I'm looking for, having me go pages deep to find what I searched for. Because of that, I'll now switch between Google and DuckDuckGo (Duck) to get the best results I'm searching for.

I've maybe touched Bing once, and it turned me off that it was essentially a clone of Google's homepage at the time. I'm sure if the UI was different, I would've used it more often to see if it gave good results.

I was very fond of Ask jeeves. It was very good back in the days before Google popped up and took the lead like a possessive witch 😂.

I've tried using DuckDuckGo once in a while but I guess Google have its hold too deep in me to drop it often.

I can find what I'm looking for fairly easily on Google where I don't need to go to Duck often.

Exactly! Also, the image search feature on Google works exceptionally well more than others I've used. This gives it an absolute edge in helping me find things I'm looking for easily.

Image search is pretty much the most useful search of them all as it provides the most accurate results, when compared to webpage searching.
