discuss Do you use a anti virus still?

A thread covering the latest news on trends, groundbreaking technologies, and digital innovations reshaping the tech landscape.
Do you still use a anti virus program?
With what I deal with, I probably should for layered protection, but I got too comfortable with Windows and Chrome being able to handle security quite well.

Every time I get an ad for a subscription, I'm like, "Is it really worth the discounted price of $30?" And then the discount is ends, so I never follow through with it. You might have made me want to second-question myself next time a deal appears as I have a lot to lose. However, I would prefer identity theft protection more, as my accounts are secure, but would want to know I am insured in case of a loss that would ruin retirement.

I don't really care about credit card leaks because my bank is awesome. They will call me or notify me of odd transactions that don't follow my purchasing behavior or pattern. I was texted just the other night to authorize a $20 purchase my wife was making. My card was also stolen on two occasions, being able to nick the first time quite quickly by disabling the card and then disputing small charges. Another time I disputed a $500-1000 (can't recall, but it was quite large) or so transaction and they immediately gave it back, closing the case, as it couldn't have been me and the evidence of that was quite clear because it was in a physical location 1000s of miles from me.

I use antivirs. Once, after my anti virus expired I dilly dallied to renew the license, and in the mean time there was an attack and my computer went dead. I lost data that I had stored after antivirus expired.

I have only experienced data compromisation and loss once. It was actually on my smartphone that happened. My extra memory card which I use with the phone was corrupted and it infected my phone's internal storage as well. I lost everything. It was the last time I never used anti virus on my phone.

I use one on my phone, but not my computer. I dual boot Windows and Linux and have found Windows Defender to be more than adequate for what I need. If you use it, just ensure you keep up with the updates and use common sense when using the internet.

The majority of Web browsers now have some built-in protection, but that doesn't mean that anti-virus software is not important. Keeping my computer safe is a priority, and that's why I use anti-virus because I don't want to take chances. It's necessary to keep my computer safe from malware.
It's too dangerous to depend on browser firewalls alone. Antivirus offers more robust protection against cyber attacks. The potential loss of vital data owing to no protection justifies the antivirus subscription fee.

We still need to use anti virus because these inbuilt firewalls don't help us one bit. Although we can also make use of Window defender and other third party anti-virus to stay safe.

In as much as using antivirus softwares offers you a better protection, it's very important to be careful where and what you do online. Don't click links that's going make you vulnerable especially phishing links. They will break through your protection.

It's best to install the best anti-virus to keep ourselves, our data and it's our computer or laptop free from any vulnerabilities of cyber world.

I have to admit to the fact that and anti-virus program is a good tool to have. I use it on my computer and my phone for security purposes when browsing over the Internet. I think it helps to safeguard my gadgets and data from any kind of loss or damage

No I don't use any kind of antivirus for my phone or laptop. I simply use those app cleaners, I don't know if they also count as antivirus.

I use anti-virus software on my computer, just for prevention, virus set in from anywhere, in other for me not to lose vital information or file i prefer using anti-virus. Lately my computer experiences a virus which corrupted large numbers of my files.

I also always install different anti-virus on my devices as a measure of precaution. As the cyber-crimes continue to rise it is always safer to be safe than sorry. I don't joke with it at all.
