discuss Can Movies Drive Social Change?

I have always believed that cinema is capable of changing a society. I have way movies that caused people to talk about race, fairness, and the rest. This indicate to us that movies can drive social change.
What's your opinion?

I completely agree that movies can drive Change. We have seen it in movies like Philadelphia and Milk. It think it must have played a role in reducing stigma associated with the LGBTQ+ people. I hold the opinion that movies can empower the oppressed, and spark positive change too.

I'm not so sure of this because I have been able to review lots of films claiming to have social relevance only to turn out to be something else entirely. I also think that movies has the capacity to make people aware of certain things going on in the society but they are not an action for change.

I have seen movies that serves as agents of change and they relate to people so well. We can witness this with “The Pursuit of Happyness”, This film makes us realize the fate of other people and it was capable of bringing about change within the society because of its ability to sensitize people to exhibit kind heartedness.
