Your body has to recover and sleep is how it recovers.

If you're not getting 6 to 8 hours of sleep a day, you're doing it wrong.

Sleep deprivation starts to attack your mind and brain functions. That will bring you stress, anxiety, and trauma.

There is a type of insomnia that people will get where they cannot go back to sleep. They'll basically become senile in a short amount of time, hallucinate, and die. It's always fatal but it's rare.

Sleep is as important as drinking water.
