Life has become too busy for many people such that almost everyone living under one roof has to be somewhere. In such a scenario, it is difficult to find enough time to cook a proper meal every single time. This becomes worse when you are living alone and work far away from home. On the other hand, employing a cook means sharing your salary and having hassle to compromise eating whatever that is cook even if it is not according to one's taste. What is your preference, self cooking or employing a cook?

I would find favour with hiring a cook only and only if I am too ill and there is no one to cook for me.

I want to cook my own food for two reasons:

1. It keeps you engaged in a day. Comeone, I am not a fancy rich guy having so many hobbies. What would I be doing if I dont have to cook or cut vegetables?

2. Who cooks according to our own taste other than ourselves?

I used to love cooking all the time, would cook so many different meals and my family would enjoy them. Over the years, though, my health has gotten worse and even though I can still cook meals, some days I do struggle now and push myself,f which only makes me worse.

If I had the chance, I would for sure hire a cook and let them make the meals.

I'd rather cook.

I know what I like and what I don't like, and sometimes it offends professional cooks.

For example, I do not like onions or onion powder. I think they ruin the taste. Some cooks believe that without an onion or onion powder, the taste isn't there.

If I cook, I can exclude the things I dislike and be happy with what I choose to eat.

I was a prep-cook, line-cook in training, and then went on to other culinary (mainly commercial) activities. So, I would rather cook than employ a cook.

Having said that, I don't have any complaints with people who make hundreds to thousands per hour (salary adjusted) that do employ personal cooks or use meal-prepping services as they are contributing to society twice: Once with their job and again by employing someone that might not otherwise be employed.
