This is known as method acting and it has been around for over a hundred years. It entails an actor immersing himself in his role by trying to experience the emotions of his character. It helps actors to genuinely understand and relate to their characters. Robert De Niro had to work as a taxi driver for his role in "Taxi Driver". Marlon Brando had to stay in  a hospital bed for some time for his role in "The Men". Method acting has a lot of dangers such as emotional distress. Why do you think method acting is dangerous?
