Internet Explorer was the first browser I used if I'm not mistaken before I used Mozilla Firefox. I still see the browser in some old PC and laptops. I don't use it anymore and can't remember the last time I used it because it's very buggy now.

Internet Explorer with all it's limitations opened the door for us to access the Web when other browsers did not exist. It is so much of a journey that it has evolved to the robust Edge browser of today.

Who can forget the most insecure browser experiences of their life?

I don't know how many times I've gotten a virus because IE was so easy to exploit with Javascript to force clicks, downloads, opens, etc.

I'm so traumatized by IE that I won't even open Edge (even though I know it's running "Chrome") and get shivers when it opens as a default browser sometimes.

I used internet for the first time through Internet Explorer and then moved to Firefox, and never migrated to another browser.

I remember Internet Explorer very well. That was the only route to use the web back in the day. It was my first browser. Now it's old and buggy. I don't use it anymore.

Jesus Christ! I thought it was only me who caught several virus through the browser because at one point, I became confused how I kept having virus attack before I was convinced it was from IE.

Nope. It was just how horrible IE was. Every time they'd patch it, there'd be another vulnerability that would take you out somehow. It was never-ending whack-a-mole with IE.

Isn't the same thing that's going on with Instagram now? It's a very useless social media platform from Meta. If you go to the r/Instagram subreddit, it's one complain or another from users.

I don't keep track of that.

However, with today's internet security, I suspect it's more of duping someone into clicking something and taking further action on the site, such as clicking A, going to B, typing in C, etc. It's much harder now than merely landing on a website like in the late ''90s/early 2000s you could land on a website and instantly infect your computer with downloads that would automatically open or have 1000000000 alerts that would force you to do a hard restart (just examples of two malicious things that could be done, but the list goes on).

A lot of users are dumb and click links that they shouldn’t be clicking. It’s been happening for years smh.

Especially from unknown people, which results in their accounts being taken by the malicious website.

Even if I get any links from someone I know, if it's a link that I'm not familiar with where it's routing me to, I wouldn't click on it. Trusting blindly have killed a lot of people.

I haven't any bad experience with using Microsoft Edge and I'm not going write it off bad cos of Internet explorer's let down.

Internet explorer was also serving humanity. Everything always has a beginning. It makes history I don't know if it's available until today. first used Firefox and many things followed.

I didn't begin using the internet until around 2007-08 or so, but I do remember using IE for months before I "discovered" other browsers... I can't think of anything worse nowadays!
