You need to love yourself but when you start loving yourself you never know when it becomes Narcissism. According to Greek mythology, Narcissus was a handsome young man who fell in love with his own reflection. He rejected everyone until he faded away and became a flower of the same name. Today, Narcissism is a word used for people who only care about themselves and are self centered. Can you name a few public figures who are Narcissist?

People must understand clearly the difference between loving yourself and being narcissistic. A narcissistic personality exhibit low empathy and that is not self love. It's not too hard to differentiate.

I don't love myself but I don't hate myself, either.

I know I'm just flesh, blood, and organs. So, I don't see imperfection on myself or others. I don't judge myself or others. We're all the same markup and whether you're big or skinny, it's all the same flesh, blood, and organs as the next person.

I could never understand self-conscious people. There is absolutely nothing special about any of us - we're all the same species.

Yeah! They are totally different. Self-love focuses on accepting yourself with compassion but narcissistic behavior motivates individuals to gain and maintain power by all means possible.

Wait, am I not supposed to be the one to love myself first? This will never change for me. It's when I'm done loving myself before loving another person will come up. I'm not saying I wouldn't love others but I'm the priority.
