Thank God that you now know and you can laugh at it. I have probably heard people and I have also experienced situations where they overstated their achievements and were caught on the spot.
The most ridiculous thing that I have had to lie about is when someone is expecting me and is calling to ask me my current location. I would say that I am close even when I am yet to leave where I am. I don't want the person to feel bad and cancel the appointment.
