discuss What is the relationship between faith and public policies?

This thread covers all aspects of ideologies, including beliefs, principles, traditions, policies, and their influence on society and culture.
Faith should remain a private territory and public policy should not depend on religious influence. The foundation of laws should benefit everyone without considering religious beliefs. The division between religious organizations and state management is the reason why we need to ensure equal rights and fair treatment for every citizen.

Should policy makers decide whether faith-based values will influence their lawmaking process or if they prefer laws that follow only secular principles.
It's up to their constituents to decide what they want their area to be represented by.

If there's a town of 1000 people and there are 3 different churches, I find nothing wrong with those 1000 voting to determine a time and a date for a public prayer led by those 3 churches (not be exclusionary) to take place if the majority rules.

Where I would draw the line is if a specific church is injecting its faith-based teachings into law by lobbying government officials to pass them.
