If it ever comes to that, despite how narrow or open views you have about alternate sexual orientations, would you accept if your son was gay?

By openess, I mean just accepting it and not taking him to conversion therapy and all those absurd things.

Children need to receive absolute love and acceptance especially with their parents. I would maintain all the love and support for my son without hesitating even if he revealed being gay. I will create an environment where he can experience safety and obtain respect.

The most important thing for parents to do in such case is to prioritize acceptance together with love and understanding. I would commit to learning about the LGBTQ+ community and actively seeking his perspective if my son revealed his sexual orientation to be gay.

I don't have kids (yet) but I wouldn't care one bit about their sexuality. It wouldn't even bother me in the slightest, and I'd offer my child any support I could to deal with their feelings, and I'd expect any decent parent would do the same.

I won't have to lie here but I would never accept a gay son. It is against my belief that someone should be gay. I would tell him straight up to switch to straight or I disown him.

I couldn't agree more. Supportive parents should love their children without reservations no matter their sexual orientation. The rejection parents offer to their children due to their sexual orientation creates overwhelming sadness. A family should embrace every child with love and acceptance and provide necessary backing for them.

Many LGBTQ+ people endure extreme mental health problems because they receive discrimination and rejection from their family members. Support from parents will create a situation where children can mingle with the society without fear.
