We all face overwhelming moments. We are frequently overwhelmed in our personal life as well as professional life. How can we maintain our compose, manage stress without getting burnout and overwhelmed? What techniques have helped you to over come your feelings of overwhelms.

I used to go for walks deep in the woods at the middle of the night for hours until I'm exhausted. Then walk back home just at sunrise and go to bed....

That was during the mid-late 90's. Now-days, a good talk with my g/f works even better.....

I just take a nap.

Usually, my sleep cycle with a scheduled nap prevents me from reaching the point of feeling overwhelmed.

Yes that's life for you sometimes I get overwhelmed and I just let go and let God. This is mostly for things I can't handle at all.

Sounds like a motto I live by, which can reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed if you just accept the fact that no matter what you do, it's impossible to change the outcome in some circumstances.

Control what you can, accept what you cannot, and move on with your day.

I get overwhelmed when I feel stressed. I try to solve this by taking a deep breath and jot things down. I do one thing for the other and I don’t hesitate to seek assistance from my hubby. It makes me feel better

Slow down. I find that slowing down and taking stock of what is happening helps immensely. Sometimes doing this also helps me realize what I am facing is not as serious or overwhelming as I made it out to be,

I wouldn't push it any further and simply shutdown myself completely. I usually find it very difficult to sleep, so I would just sit and rest with either watching movies, TV shows or playing music.

I speak to a confidant. Sometimes sharing my worries with someone who cares enough to listen can go a long way to make me feel better.
Just to tell somebody close to you can be a great comfort. Being able to tell one’s thoughts and concern to a caring ear can do a lot of wonders of providing a new point of view and it relieve stress too.
