The popular TV genres that dominate the television shows in my opinion are that fantasy genre. GOTHAM and THE WITCHER have proved that fantasy genre is now among the trends that will not leave the audience interest and the streaming platforms any time soon. It also helps that most of them have great storylines, interesting characters and fantastic graphics.

While I myself don't generally tend to enjoy the fantasy genre that's overtaking TV & film lately, I completely agree that it probably is one of the most, if not the most, popular genre.

I myself have been enjoying a lot of crime/mystery dramas lately. I unsubscribed from Netflix earlier this year after struggling for a while to find things that interest me that I hadn't watched - so I've been going through BBC iPlayer, QUEST and such finding things since.

I also enjoy some gameshows - The Traitors is a personal absolute favourite, and I'm so looking forward to the upcoming new series!

I would have to say "reality TV" as it seems to creep in with a "new concept" on almost every channel, and then those channels get sucked into broadcasting other reality series.

I figured out the true crime genre is becoming increasingly popular. The documentaries such as Making a Murderer, Tiger King can easily become a topic of conversation in the street, in cafes, in offices and more. The suspense and real life drama is really fascinating.
