Movie information in first post provided by The Movie Database
I usually enjoy Mark Wahlberg’s films because he nails those serious down-to-earth roles in both action and drama. So, when I watched The Union, I expected more of the same. I was a bit disappointed at first since he mixes serious muscle with comedy here, which wasn’t what I was expecting. But honestly, it works for this film. Still, I think I would’ve preferred him in a more serious role with comedic co-stars.

As for the movie itself, the script isn’t the strongest for a spy comedy, but A-list stars like Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry help. The plot is easy to follow, maybe even too easy, since it’s not hard to guess who the leak in the organization is. I got it wrong when watching, but I should’ve seen it coming.

The Union packs in enough action and stunts to keep you watching and entertained.

The Union is the brand new movie. In this film Wahberg plays Mike. He is a construction worker but was eventually put into a world of spies and secret agents by his high school friend, he was recruited into the intelligence Mission.

I’m not going to say The Union is the worst movie I've ever seen, but it's not really impressive. So, she recruits Wahberg because he's a nobody and willing to do dangerous things no one would ever do. It's a spy movie and their mission is so generic.

All the talented actors in this movie just kind of feels like a waste. The action is fine and the background is good to watch. It'll provide enough entertainment to get you through the next two hours but it didn't really need to be two hours. I guess it should be a little shorter than that. This film is not impressive at all.

Netflix have had quality films across the board but I don't seem to like The Union. It didn't live up to expectations. To be honest, nothing stands out about the characters in this movie other than the fact that they're being played by the famous Wahberg and Berry who are good but it's obviously a paycheck film. But if you need something to pass the time, The union may work.
