In my opinion, women most definitely should be able to assume leadership roles in their religious organizations. They can also provide different views of the communities. In fact, there are so many religions today that support women leadership and this has been amazing.
The clear answer is religion was created by men, so they did not give women any position in the religious institutions. Historically speaking, Buddhism is one of the oldest religions that have accepted women. The Buddha allowed his mother to become a monk and stay in the monastery.
Religious communities should allow equity by offering women the chance to work in leadership capacities. This can be done through offering spaces for women in crusades and some other things. This way we can respect equality.
