Movie information in first post provided by The Movie Database
For me, The Rental was just extremely slow with a lot of plot holes. I didn't enjoy the storyline at all. It's like I'm not getting anywhere in the story . The horror component in this movie was done very poorly and felt like it was added at the very last minute without much thought to it.

Also, there was no explanation as to why a character is killing people. Can anyone tell me? Maybe, the idea to why he’s killing may be taken further into a sequel. But I doubt that anyone will be queuing up for the next part.

I’m not saying that all scenes in the movie are bad. There are good ones but the story lacks depth and that is basically why the movie didn't resonate with me.
