Overview:
The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is the eighth studio album by American rapper Eminem, released on November 5, 2013, by Aftermath Entertainment, Shady Records, and Interscope Records. A continuation of Eminem's most acclaimed studio effort, 2000's The Marshall Mathers LP, production for the album took place from 2012 to 2013 and was handled by Eminem and other record producers, including Rick Rubin, Luis Resto, Emile Haynie, and Alex da Kid. The album features guest appearances from singers Skylar Grey, Rihanna, and Fun frontman Nate Ruess, with the only other rapper appearing on the album being Eminem's Aftermath label-mate Kendrick Lamar.
The album title was revealed during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on August 25 with a preview of the lead single "Berzerk", released two days later in the U.S., peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. It was followed by two singles: "Survival", released on October 8, and "Rap God", released on October 15, 2013. The former debuted at number 17 on the Hot 100, and the latter at number seven. "The Monster", featuring Rihanna, was released as the album's fourth single on October 29, 2013.
The album received generally positive reviews from music critics, with praise going to Eminem's technical rapping skill and production choices. It marked an improvement in reception over some of his more recent albums, and was named on multiple "Albums of the Year" year-end lists. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and had the second highest album sales of 2013.

Amazing recovery from Recovery.

The album brings back that iconic LP vibe from 2000 and turns it into something fresh.

(#09) "Rap God" really shows off his lyrical skills, and (#12) "The Monster" is a great track that features Rihanna.

The whole album is solid, but my favorite song has to be (#15) "Headlights" because it adds closure to songs about his mother.

The opening track was off and I don't think it should be placed in number one. I believe there should be skit to open the album instead of Bad Guy. Choosing the song for the opening is very terrible. That song just doesn't resonate with me. It has awkward note. It would be good at the middle of the album.

The piano is good and simple but it would be great if played at a loud volume. I'm not trying to be perfect here. Just pointing out what I think was off. Legacy is very good. OMG, I love that track a lot. The lyrics is very brutal. He keeps it real and flow really well. Asshole is good too! I listened to it a couple of times and everything was so perfect.

Overall, the album is a hit. Although there are some tracks that didn't leave up to expectations but we have some good ones there too.

This is one of the first Eminem albums I ever listened to, and I got hooked immediately. My honest review is that it is a mixed bag. It has some great hits in there, but some do not live up to the expectations. Obviously Berzerk and Rap God are classics by now, but Stronger Than I Was is not it. I respect Eminem and his rapping prowess, but the guy cannot sing.

I was a little disappointed with The Monster. I was expecting it to be a hit since he featured Rihanna, but it wasn't what I expected. I was expecting a song that would get me hooked, but it was horrible, and I was led down. What do you think about this?
Love Game and Headlight are the best songs on the album.
