From personal sports injury experience, I recognize that stretching is vital for preventing certain injuries. Stretches performed frequently lead people to develop better flexibility and diminishes the muscle discomfort.

It also enable superior athletic performance as well. Stretching deserves to become a top priority for everyone.
 
Just don't force a stretch too hard.

I pulled some soft tissue and wasn't able to bench for a week or two because I stretched my tricep leaning onto the wall and forced a bit too much bodyweight on it to stretch. I felt kind of a "snap", a little pain, and continued my workout anyway, which probably made it worse.
