Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was arrested in New York City for allegedly violating parole. He appeared at the Manhattan federal courthouse on October 29, where a warrant was issued by Judge Paul A. Engelmayer. The arrest follows his two-year sentence from 2019 for racketeering with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
Tekashi, now 28, originally faced decades in prison but received a reduced sentence in exchange for testifying against his former gang members. He was released early in April 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, serving the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.
The rapper’s recent legal troubles extend beyond parole issues. Last month, he was sued by his ex-girlfriend, Jorgina Lulu Guillermo Diaz, for revenge porn and abuse allegations. She claimed he drugged, stole from, and physically harmed her. Tekashi denied the accusations, telling TMZ he was “speechless.”
Tekashi also faced domestic violence charges earlier this year in the Dominican Republic but was released on bond. His lawyer accused local prosecutors of fabricating evidence.
The Independent reached out to Tekashi's team for comment but has not received a response.
