For those of us that watch anime, do you prefer them subbed or dubbed in English?
For me, I prefer the subbed version. The original japanese language and the sound is part of what gives anime that amazing experience, so taking it away will be taking away part of the excitement.

What about you?

It feels awkward watching anime in dubbed version. I can understand the reason why they do it because of those who doesn't want to be glued to reading the subtitles but it doesn't work for with anime even if it works for other movies.

I agree with what you said because watching anime with the intended language is more cool. I guess that's why you prefer the Japanese voices. It's basically because It sounds more real and exciting. The English voices don't match the character in the movie sometimes and that may affect the thrill.

You are not alone in this. I want to hear the real voices. But we shouldn't get it twisted either because English voices are so great too. They help more people to enjoy anime movies.

I do not like dubbed movies, I prefer to watch movies with subtitle if I cannot comprehend the language instead of watching dubbed movies. I find dubbed movies lacking emotions.

I get your point. I watched an episode of Attack on Titan in dubbed English and their lines weren't that bad. I can understand why some will opt for it, but personally I still prefer it subbed.

That's a very point! because the original language especially in voice acting add authenticity to the movie more. Not only that, the emotional depth would be there too. That's what makes a movie experience amazing.

I support you on this. No other reason because I love the original tone from the actors. It makes me enjoy the movie more. I feel disconnected with the dubbed version.

I usually prefer the sub version, Japanese voice actors put more oompf behind their roles. English voice actors do a decent job, some are better than others but some just barely do a good job.
