Recently, the onset of OTT platforms have made financing for movies very easy compared to what it was a decade ago.

There are Netflix movies even shot on an IPhone. If you have seen 'High Flying Bird' it was about a dispute between NBA and players and how it impacted many team members and managers. It was shot completely using a iPhone. Before I saw the movie, I was skeptical about it, but later I found that it is as good as any other movies.

What are your opinion on films completely shot on phone cameras?

I like the idea of movies filmed on a vertical resolution.

I think that would be really interesting. I mean, it would have to be for a genre of people who don't like the big screen (like me). But I think some people would hate the idea of it because it's change.

I think it's probably the future -- the near future at that.
That is an entirely new concept.

Do you know any examples of vertical orientation films?

I still find it hard to believe as they would need to shoot it in 4K, just in case, as upscaling anything less would degrade quality. Supposedly, you can still record 1-2 hours of 4K on an iPhone without overheating. But out in the elements, I would find that number a bit too much.

However, that leads us to the physics of an iPhone vs traditional cameras and lenses. You won't get the depth of field that you see in movies using an iPhone unless it's done in post. I'm sure that post can do a lot to an iPhone movie to improve its theatrical quality, especially with the assistance of AI.

However, a Canon 5D Mark II was used to shoot Iron Man 2 and The Avengers. amongst many others. You can grab 6 bodies for the price of 1 iPhone and cover more angles. The only problem that comes in is lens choice for the look that you're going for. However, you can rent lenses, and even bodies. In the end, it would be much cheaper to do it the traditional way with a 5D/II, if on a budget, and any lens of your choice than having to maintain iPhones on set.

It just makes it seem like they did it because they could, and to take the title for doing it. But, good on them for marketing purposes, as that was essentially the selling point for the 5D/II.
