If you check religious literature in almost all religions, you will see that most religion condemn money, the holy books will say "money is the root of evil." However, when you are living in the real world, you will find that money is the source of happiness. Whatever things you do to make yourself happy requires money. You not only buy basic things like food and clothes with money but even happiness.

Now back to our eternal question, is money root of evil or the source of happiness?

I also acknowledge with the statement that money per se is not evil, but how it is employed can be evil. One cannot deny that money is a root of evil once used for evil deeds or for selfish intentions. But when spent to assist other people, charities, or indeed enhance other people’s lives, money is beneficial and even positive.

I totally agree. People can be evil without money but it is also true that those people who have a desire to accumulate wealth are evil. I will give you a simple example. Once a owner of noodle factory was invited in a talk show. There were a lot of discussion in the media that the noodle was low quality, so the program host asked the owner of noodle factory to prove the media report wrong by eating his noodle in this show. He denied. people can easily become evil for money.

Just our of curiosity, how is investor education and investing education going on in Japan?

I earn very little, not millions and all those. But with proper financial planning and investment, I believe I can reach there in another 10 to 20 years.
